The new Light of Findhorn Sanctuary rises

There’s a bold new feature next to the Original Garden here in The Park Ecovillage, Findhorn: after over three years of emptiness where the original Sanctuary used to stand, the new Light of Findhorn Sanctuary is now manifestly breathing new life into our community.

Since the first Sanctuary burned to the ground in April 2021, a massive community effort of fundraising, designing, council approvals and enormous energetic support has brought us here.

‘It’s a year since we did an invocation of the physical manifestation of the new Light of Findhorn Sanctuary, and now we’re starting to look at interior furnishing,’ said Kathy Tyler, New Sanctuary Co-Ordinator Advisor.

The new Sanctuary is being brought into being on many levels. A circle of people – all are welcome! – are gathering near the site in the original garden each Friday at 12.30 for a blessing. This group is calling in the energies of all levels of beings, imbuing our new Sanctuary with light and love even as the building work continues.

Although much larger – the new Sanctuary will accommodate almost 80 people – it stands on the same site next to the Original Garden and caravan where our founders first settled in 1962.

‘I think it’s going to be magnificent. I feel super grateful for all the love that’s gone into it,’ said Kathy.

The team from Greenleaf Design and Build are currently working on the roof and installing the windows and doors. The final stages leading to December will be interiors and landscaping. There will be a blessing and dedication in January.
