Partnering with the unseen

From the beginning – since the 1960s – the spiritual community here in Findhorn has been conscious of the possibility of connecting with the unseen intelligence that exists around us.
One of the key heritage stories of the garden, in which huge vegetables and flowers flourished on land that was little more than sand and gravel, is one of exactly that kind of connection and partnership.
One of our founders, Dorothy Maclean, found she could connect with the over-lighting intelligence of the plants – and often the messages she received were very direct. Too much manure!
That spirit is still tended today. Mary Inglis, who has lived in the community for 51 years, is actively fostering our abilities to connect with all of life’s dimensions.
‘When we partner and co-create with the physical and non-physical aspects of existence, new possibilities open up and more can be brought forward than either could do on their own,’ said Mary.

'When we partner and co-create with the physical and non-physical aspects of existence, new possibilities open up and more can be brought forward than either could do on their own.'

‘If that story is to continue to be a living and evolving one in our community and world today, that partnership needs to live in us, in a manner unique to us.’
At a recent weekend workshop, a dozen or so participants explored what it means to partner with subtle energies and presences, and how to cultivate a partnering presence.
To the surprise of many participants, these (and more) poems flowed effortlessly out of an exercise reflecting on the presence we bring as unique individuals, part of the earth, part of humanity, part of spirit.

Circles of light
I step in
By choice
Or taken by my
Hand to be
Myself
In eternity?

Beautiful me

Spiral of life
The wild oceans of the world flow through me, and me through them.
I'm in the winds that whirl through the woods and whip among the mountains.
Yet I'm a still point, connected in the web of Gaia.
A resting place, a light-held, solid strength.
My human-ness, with all its frailties, embodies the might of all this.
We are the channels through which the sacred moves in the world.
